Aptly named for displaying both the day and the date on the face of the watch, the Rolex Day-Date was the first watch in history to perform both of these feats automatically and without manual intervention by the owner. First created in 1956, Day-Date watches were available in a multitude of languages and were worn by international world leaders.

Rolex Day-Date watch cases are only available in platinum or in 18K gold. Within the watch is a unique oscillator made of 'blue parachrom,' a paramagnetic alloy that can withstand magnetic fields and shocks that would impact any other conventional watch. The discontinued "Day-Date President" is one of the most prestigious and sought-after luxury watches, entirely adorned with 18K gold and diamonds. Certain models, particularly the platinum and diamond-covered face, bezel and center band models, originally had an MSRP of $120,000.
