Richardson, Texas-based Fossil is most notable for maintaining a collection of sporty, casual watches for men at incredibly affordable price ranges.

Currently, five distinct lines of mens Fossil watches encompass the company's efforts: Ansel, Dean, Decker, Flight, and Machine. Many retired models are still in circulation. Unlike many other watch brands, the individual watches featured in Fossils' collections are incredibly diverse, and in many cases, having no relation whatsoever from other watches within the same brand (unlike other brands, which feature collections that all share some common quality - such as "all stainless steel" or "all square cased watches").

The company was founded in 1984 as a college project by Greek-American student Tom Kartsotis, and blossomed to become one of the world's most recognized household brands of retro-fashioned leather strap watches.

Fossil also maintains watch brands by Emporio Armani, Relic, Zodiac and others.
